Police say truck pushed second vehicle into man in fatal Raleigh crash

— A Raleigh man has died of injuries suffered when he was struck while trying to cross Capital Boulevard on Monday afternoon.

Michael David Moore, 62, attempted to cross Capital Boulevard on foot just before 3 p.m. Monday. At least two cars traveling southbound on Capital, near Old Buffaloe Road, stopped as Moore crossed, but a Ford truck did not stop, stating the crash.

The truck, owned by Ace’s Towing and Recovery, changed lanes to avoid one of the stopped cars, then rear-ended a stopped Mazda, which hit Moore, according to a police report. The truck was going 55 mph in a 45 mph zone, according to the report.

Moore was not crossing at a crosswalk, according to the report.

Moore was a resident of Snow Avenue, according to the report. No charges have been announced in relation to the crash.
