Classical gas: NC Symphony hits the top of the charts

The NC Symphony may not be toppermost of the poppermost - but the ensemble is at the loftiest of lofty perches on Billboard’s “Traditional Classical Albums” sales chart. Cellist Zuill Bailey’s “Britten: Cello Symphony & Sonata,” recorded in part with Grant Llewellyn and the symphony at Raleigh’s Meymandi Concert Hall, debuts at No. 1 on the chart for Feb. 1.
