DURHAM — The man suspected of murdering a 9-year-old boy has turned himself in to Durham police.
Everett Lamont Graves, 23, of Elmira Avenue, has been charged with shooting Jaeden Sharpe and his mother, Lakeisha Holloway, in a car on the night of Jan. 4. The child died of his injuries on Jan. 10, while Holloway suffered serious wounds.
“The incident does not appear to have been random,” according to Durham Police Department spokeswoman Kammie Michael.
Police announced Wednesday that they were looking for Graves, who has been charged with murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury.
