John Reseigne: F on research

January 24, 2014

Regarding the Jan. 12 letter “Benefits count”: Do I contribute to health care and retirement? Yes. Can I use accumulated vacation time? No. Why is the summer my vacation? It’s not. I don’t get paid. Do I contribute to Social Security? Yes. Retire after 30 years at 52? Really? Teachers can’t afford to support their families on what little they get paid while working. How would we support them on the pension we get? The product we put out? Could we do better? Yes, just like everybody else. We obviously forgot to teach the writer how to research a topic!
