Heidi Hiltl: Alternative is best

January 25, 2014

When I moved to the area three years ago, one of the first people I met owned a solar energy company. I was so hopeful and excited that N.C. seemed progressive and open to alternative energy. Now, I am sad about what could be done but isn’t.

Here’s hoping someone comes to his senses and picks up the ball that got dropped. We can’t keep living like it’s 1975. People like me who care about the environment will pay a little more not to frack the state to a pulp. The lawmakers aren’t listening. How many Moral Mondays can a person go to and be ignored?

We want alternative energy. We want to use what’s going to damage the environment the least. Is anyone listening?
