Reno, NV (SportsNetwork.com) - Deonte Burton paced four teammates in double figures with 18 points to lead the Nevada Wolf Pack to a 76-67 victory over the Colorado State Rams in Mountain West Conference action at the Lawlor Events Center.
Burton shot 8-of-8 from the free-throw line and added seven rebounds for Nevada (11-10, 6-2 MWC), which has won two of three. Jerry Evans, Jr. netted 16 points, AJ West tallied 12 points and nine boards and Cole Huff scored 12 as well.
For Colorado State (12-9, 3-5), Jon Octeus led all scorers with 21 points, draining all 12 of his free-throw tries. Daniel Bejarano logged a double- double with 17 points and 10 rebounds and J.J. Avila had 12 points and eight boards before fouling out.
Nevada finished the first half on a 7-2 run to take a 33-28 lead into intermission. It outshot Colorado State from the field in the opening 20 minutes, 48.3 percent to 45.8 percent.
With the score tied at 38 with under 16 minutes remaining, the Wolf Pack ran off an 11-0 run to separate themselves, and their advantage was never threatened down the stretch.
Nevada shot just 5-of-17 from 3-point range on the night, but Colorado State was even worse at 3-of-18.
