For sale Friday: Rogue ram of Durham, 'as is'

From staff reportsJanuary 30, 2014

Bubba, the exotic ram that spent months on the run in Durham, will be auctioned Jan. 31.

DURHAM COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

— This week’s wintry weather won’t interfere with plans by Durham authorities to sell a rogue sheep on Friday.

Bubba, who was captured in December after months wandering Durham, will be auctioned at 10 a.m. Friday at Elodie Farms, 9522 Hampton Road in Rougemont.

Anyone may bid, and there is no minimum. The exotic Barbados-Mouflon weighs 125 pounds.

“Neither snow nor rain nor freezing cold temperatures shall prevent the auction of Bubba,” wrote Paul Sherwin, a spokesman for the Durham County Sheriff’s Office.

Bubba will be sold “as is.”
