The Durham Art Guild will celebrate the 20th anniversary of its annual Sweet Arts Auction & Fundraiser from 7 to 10 p.m. Feb. 28.
Heather Gordon, the artist behind the floor at Cocoa Cinnamon, will be participating. Gordon’s donated work will be a custom coded geometric design created from the highest bidder’s unique and personal geographical data. In addition to gathering artwork by talented artists, Sweet Arts draws some great non-art auction items as well, such as:
• Travel packages to New York City, Asheville, and Sedona, Ariz.
• VIP Durham Bulls package for 6 people.
• A package of gift certificates and goodies donated from the venues featured in the 2013 Southern Living’s “South’s Tastiest Town.”
This year’s event will be held on the upper level of the Durham Arts Council building, 120 Morris St., in downtown Durham. Advance tickets are $35 for individuals and $30 each for groups of two or more.
The Durham Art Guild builds awareness of the local art community through exhibitions, education, and community outreach.
