WENDELL — A call about late-night shoplifting at a Sheetz convenience store in Wendell led to a man and woman from Raleigh being charged early Thursday with possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell it.
Police charged a third person later Thursday morning.
Officer Paul Opansenko was sorting out a misdemeanor larceny charge against Aaron James Peedin when the case widened, police said.
Peedin, 21, and Angela Michelle Cogan, 22, were both arrested on drug charges.
Both told police they live in the same apartment art 3915 Marcom St. in Raleigh and have no jobs.
Cogan was charged with one count of possession of meth and one count of possession with intent to sell it, possession of the prescription medicines Clonazepam and Alprazolam, possession of pills for relief of menopause symptoms that were supposed to be sold as the party drug Ecstasy.
Police also accused Cogan of keeping a 2006 Kia Optima as a place to keep and sell drugs.
Peedin was charged with possession of meth and possession to sell it and with misdemeanor larceny.
Michael Dean Giggey, 24, of 1548 Old Hwy. 27, Mount Holly, was also charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession with intent to sell it, possession of other prescription drugs and possession of a counterfeit controlled substance with intent to sell it as a controlled substance.
Cogan was released Friday from the Wake County Detention Center in lieu of $50,000 bail and Peedin remained jailed under $25,500. Giggey was placed under a $75,000 bond.
