Recap: BYU vs. Pacific

Provo, UT (SportsNetwork.com) - Tyler Haws scored 38 points on 12-of-20 shooting as the BYU Cougars ran to an 88-78 victory over the Pacific Tigers in West Coast Conference action at the Marriott Center.

Eric Mika netted 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds for BYU (14-9, 6-4 WCC). Kyle Collinsworth and Skyler Halford each chipped in 10 points, while Collinsworth added six rebounds. The victory snaps a two-game losing skid for the Cougars.

Tony Gill scored 15 points off the bench for Pacific (11-9, 2-7), and Andrew Bock contributed 13 in the loss. The Tigers have lost three of their last four games.

BYU shot 48.5 percent from the floor in the first half and took a 45-34 lead into the intermission. Pacific shot 50 percent from the floor in the first stanza.

The Cougars connected on 45.8 percent of their shots in the second half, and hit 18-of-25 from the free-throw line. Pacific hit 57.1 percent from the floor in the half, and went 17-of-20 from the free-throw line.

BYU had the edge in second chance points, 22-6, and in rebounding, 35-24. Pacific held the advantage in bench points, 45-3.
