Two men accused of robbing out-of-towners looking to buy marijuana

— Police on Friday charged two men with robbing a couple of out-of-towners who were allegedly trying to purchase marijuana from the suspects.

Christopher Anthony Clegg, 19, of Raleigh, and Timothy James Chism, 20, of Garner, have been charged by Garner police with multiple offenses related to reports of a robbery early Friday afternoon.

Police charged Clegg with felony assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of felony larceny, two counts of felony conspiracy to commit common law robbery and misdemeanor assault, according to a press statement from the Garner Police Department.

Chism has been charged with two counts each of felony larceny and conspiracy to commit common law robbery, along with one count each of misdemeanor assault, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana, police reported.

Investigators say the charges stem from incident that occurred just before 12:20 p.m. at 915 Bryan Place.

Police described the victims Christopher Adams and Corey Juliano as out of state residents who were traveling through Garner. They victims were robbed while trying to purchase marijuana from Clegg and Chism, according to police.

Police arrested Clegg and Chism in the parking lot of the Forest Hills Shopping Center shortly after the robbery.

No charges have been filed against Adams and Juliano.

Clegg and Chism were being held Friday at the Wake County Jail.
