Student picked for medical leadership event

Sophie Elgamal of Raleigh has been nominated to attend this month’s Congress of Future Medical Leaders in Washington, D.C.

The three-day event is an honors program for high school students who want to become physicians or pursue medical research careers. Participants will hear talks on medical research and get advice from medical school deans. The event is sponsored by the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists.

Sophie, a student at Ravenscroft, was selected to attend based on her academic achievement, leadership potential and dedication to a medical career.
