Police: Raleigh man stole $30,000 worth of state-owned pipe

— A Raleigh man is accused of stealing a lot of copper piping from the state of North Carolina.

Johnnie Alfred Moore, 59, was arrested by the State Capitol Police and is accused of taking $30,000 worth of state-owned pipe from various sites, including downtown Raleigh addresses, according to an arrest warrant. He faces two charges of felony larceny.

Moore, of 216 Lee St., was being held at the Wake County Detention Center in lieu of $20,000 bail.
