From staff reportsFebruary 7, 2014

— North Carolina State University police were looking Friday for a man who tried to steal a woman's wallet on the campus, they said in an alert.

Police said a student told them the man pushed her, then ran away when she did not drop the wallet.

The man was described as white, about 5-foot-4, in his 40s, with short hair and some facial hair and wearing a black toboggan and a dark. hooded sweatshirt.

The woman was unhurt, police said.

It happened about 4:30 p.m. just north of the school’s Burlington Labs, and the man was last seen running toward Katherine Stinson Drive.

Police asked that anyone who has information that could help them find the man call N.C. State University Campus Police at 919-515-3000.
