Durham school officials considering ways to make-up additional lost days

— As the snow closes schools across the Triangle, Durham Public Schools is trying to figure out the best way to make those days up.

School officials say a plan is in place but want to wait to see how many days of school will be missed before making the final decision. Schools will be canceled Friday as well. According to weather.com, Durham received an estimated 7 inches of snow.

Friday and Monday were intended to be a make-up day for year-round schools, which originally had the day off. Traditional schools will make up the Jan. 29-30 school days lost to a snow storm on Feb. 17 and March 28 respectively.

Spring break, Saturdays and extending the school year could be an option if no days are available.
