Kansas City, KS (SportsNetwork.com) - Sporting Kansas City announced Thursday that club has signed former on-loan midfielder Jimmy Medranda to a permanent contract from Colombian side Deportivo Pereira.

"Jimmy is a good, young talent with a lot of potential," Sporting manager Peter Vermes said in a statement. "It was a goal of ours to try to re-sign him at the end of this season as a Sporting Kansas City player as opposed to being on loan. We're excited to have been able to accomplish that goal."

Medranda has signed a multi-year contract with the reigning MLS Cup champions and will be added to to the team's 2014 roster upon receipt of his International Transfer Certificate. The 19-year-old, who made one first-team appearance for Sporting last season, will occupy the club's fourth of eight available international roster spots.
