Johnston board honors responsible students

Johnston County Schools’ Board of Education recognized students who showed outstanding responsibility in November, a month in which responsibility was the highlighted character education trait for the school system.

Tre Frederick, son of Chris and L.J. Frederick, was the honoree from West Johnston High School, where he is a junior.

Matthew Byrd, son of Clay and Kim Byrd, was the honoree from West Smithfield Elementary School, where he is a fifth-grader.

West View Elementary School selected fifth-grader Tyler Johnson, son of Lisa and Adrian Johnson.

Wilson’s Mills Elementary School chose fifth-grader Kaili Boone, daughter of Eric and Kimberly Boone.

Kayla McCaffrey was the honoree from Archer Lodge Middle School, where she is in eighth grade. She is the daughter of Katherine and John McCaffrey.

Benson Elementary School selected fourth-grader Hunter Brewington, son of Leslie and Kelly Brewington.
