The Feb. 11 Point of View “Shredding the social contract” by Alice Verstrat hit the nail on the head. I didn’t see this attitude toward the educational system during the campaign. Did I miss something?
All residents are lifted up by a good and progressive educational system, so it should be supported by all. I get the feeling that a lot of people across the country feel that since they don’t have children and never plan on children, they should not have to support the educational system, especially the public education system.
I don’t think the governor is using his God-given talents of leadership to good purpose. The governor should read the Point of View and act according. We can’t operate a state educational system like a cheap-item retail store.
