Elliot Galdy: Prove it, Governor

Posted on February 18, 2014

On two TV political shows, Gov. Pat McCrory recently said that he believes in climate change although he’s not sure whether it’s man-made or part of earth’s evolution. Fair enough. He goes on to say that he’s concentrating on cleaning up the environment: air, water and the ground.

If that is the case, let him put the state’s money where his mouth is and openly oppose fracking and any loosening of pending EPA regulations for coal and hold his former employer, Duke Energy, liable for recent toxic spills.

And while he’s at it, how about increasing funding in North Carolina for renewable energy resources?
