Rain to blow into Triangle on Friday, pushed by strong wind gusts

From staff reportsFebruary 20, 2014

— Grab an umbrella Friday, and you may need to grab it tight at times.

The Triangle weather forecast calls for a 100 percent chance of rain, and wind gusts up to 35 mph may come along with it, the National Weather Service said.

Both are thanks to a cold front that is expected to cross the state during the day.

There may be a quarter to a half inch of rain, a pleasant forecast compared with what came from the skies a week ago.

The cold front will push Friday night lows into the 30s, but daytime temperatures Saturday and Sunday should be in the low to mid 60s.
