From staff reportsFebruary 20, 2014

— Police have accused a 24-year-old man, already being held on several burglary charges, with breaking into a Capital Boulevard tobacco shop last September and taking 500 cartons of cigarettes and 20 watches.

In arrest warrants they served on Heikeem D’Shawn White at the Wake County Detention Center on Wednesday night, detectives charged that he broke into the Mr. Tobacco store on Sep. 29 and made off with the Newport cigarettes and the watches that had a total value of $25,000.

With $30,000 for the new charges, White was being held in lieu of $630,000 bail and was due in court Thursday.

White, of 1505 N. Raleigh Blvd., was first arrested in November, when Raleigh police charged him with 12 counts of breaking and entering, 11 counts of larceny after breaking and entering and one count of attempted breaking and entering.

Those charges involved gas stations, convenience stores, a show store and another tobacco shop.
