Regarding the Feb. 13 Point of View “Not buying the traditional Republican message”: Frederick Parker opines that, “Republicans celebrate winners and accept the reality of losers, and anything that eliminates the unpleasantness of losing is not constructive.” He does not cite any conclusive evidence to support his view.
Parker undoubtedly does not agree with the ceremony of celebrating the winners at the Winter Olympics. Parker further believes that individuals born after 1990 prefer to cooperate with everybody and not to exclude anyone for any reason. Many Democrats don’t share his view.
For example, I don’t see any signs of Democrats cooperating with the Republicans in the U.S. Congress, but that is probably because they were born before 1990. I also remember President Obama telling the Republicans, “We won, get over it,” when the disaster, Obamacare, was enacted.
I wonder whether Parker gives everyone in his classes a “C” so there are no winners or losers.
