Cary Academy singers land spots in honors chorus

Several Cary Academy students were chosen by audition last fall for Southern American Choral Directors Association Honors Choruses.

They will perform at the association’s conference in Jacksonville, Fla., next month, along with students from 12 other states.

Chosen for the Junior High Boys Honors Chorus, open to 6th-9th graders, were eighth-grader Tyler Horwitz and ninth-grader Jack Stafford, both tenors.

The Junior High Girls Honors Chorus will include Rosie Hoile, Rachel Johns, Meghan Cowen and Evie Taylor, all ninth-graders.

Chosen for the High School Mixed Chorus, open to high school sophomores, juniors and seniors, were sophomore Andrew McClenney and juniors Laura Bright and Ivana Premasinghe.
