Love, Walker named NBA Players of the Week

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love and Charlotte Bobcats guard Kemba Walker have been named the NBA Western and Eastern Conference Players of the Week, respectively, from games played between Feb. 18-23.

Love, who earns the honor for the second time this season, averaged 36.7 points on 57.1 percent, with 12.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists during the period.

Love started the second half of the NBA season with a 42-point, 16-rebound effort to lead the Timberwolves to a 104-91 win over the Eastern Conference- leading Indiana Pacers. He followed that with his first career triple-double in a win at Utah three days later.

The UCLA product scored 37 points with 12 rebounds and a career-high 10 assists in Minnesota's 121-104 win over the Jazz and closed out the week with 31 points and 10 rebounds in a loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday.

Walker led the Bobcats to a 4-0 week with averages of 22.5 points, 8.8 assists and 5.5 rebounds. He scored 24 points with a career-high 16 assists during a 116-98 win over the Detroit Pistons, then totaled 31 points with eight rebounds and five assists in a 92-89 win over the Memphis Grizzlies to close out the week on Saturday.
