— Police say a man broke into a neighbor's apartment, broke his jaw and left him unconscious before leaving with money and prescription medicine.

David Paul Robertson, 24, of 1520 N. Main St. was arrested late Tuesday afternoon at a Days Inn hotel in Raleigh.

Police said in an arrest warrant that the break-in and assault happened Sunday night at an apartment on North Main Street.

The victim, a man, suffered a broken jaw, cuts on his arms and an ear that required stitches and was left unconscious, the warrant said.

Robertson was charged with first-degree burglary, assault inflicting serious bodily injury and common law robbery and was being held in lieu of $250,000 bail for a court appearance Wednesday.

Police wrote in the arrest warrant that what was stolen was worth $1,350 but did not break down that amount.
