Young Republicans make USO gift bags

Students from the Young Republicans Club at Carrboro High School and some helpers made gift bags for service members coming through the USO at Raleigh-Durham International Airport over the holidays. Students from the Young Republicans Club at Carrboro High School assembled nearly 100 gift bags for service members coming through the USO at Raleigh-Durham International Airport around Christmastime.

Club co-president Claire Hanlon asked her neighbors in the Southern Village community to donate items such as candy, cookies, lip balm and hand lotion, and the students assembled the bags, adding handwritten holiday notes.

In addition to Claire, the students who participated included Clare Feole, Alexandra Glenn, Maddie Glenn, Maddie Smith and Katie Wilson.
