Mrs. Nicholas Andreas Hofer

Caroline Hampton Williams and Nicholas Andreas Hofer of Tallahassee, FL were married March 1, 2014 at Christ Church. The Reverend James Patrick Adams was the officiant at the 6:30 evening ceremony. A reception followed at the Carolina Country Club.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Judson Blount Williams of Raleigh. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Henriette Dargan Hampton Morris and the late Mr. Ben Rankin Morris of Columbia, SC, the late Lucy Blount Andrews of Greensboro, and the late Alfred Williams III of Raleigh. She is a graduate of Broughton High School and The University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She is currently earning her Master of Arts degree in Creative Writing at New York University.

The bridgegroon is the son of Mrs. Carol Ann Hofer-Oechsle of Zurich, Switzerland and Mr. Thomas Walter Hofer of Singapore. He is the grandson of Mrs. Ruth Pimpo Oechsle-Locher and the late Mr. Dieter W. Oechsle and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Max Hofer, all of Zurich. He graduated from Kantonsschule in Zurich and the University of Zurich with a Master of Arts degree in Political Science, and from Vanderbilt University with a Masters of Business Administration. He is a consultant at North Highland in Tallahassee.

The matrons of honor were Henriette Dargan Williams-Alexander of Raleigh and Nancy Rankin Williams McGugin of Nashville, TN, both sisters of the bride. Bridesmaids were Ann-Katrin Laura Hofer of Zurich, sister of the groom; Lara Alexander of London, UK; Hilah Maria Barbot of New Orleans, LA; Kathleen Drew Barrington of Charlottesville, VA; Elizabeth Breckinridge Fisher Brown of Raleigh; Lauren Virginia Downing of Virginia Beach, VA; Julia Lynn Edwards of New York, NY; Neils Barringer Louv of Durham; Carolyn Elizabeth Paine of Atlanta, GA; Cathleen Elizabeth Shiembob of Chicago, IL; and Margaret Brunstad Williams of Durham. Honorary bridesmaids were Heyward Morris Fougerousse of Atlanta and Claire Morris Talebian of McLean, VA.

The best men were Florian Thomas Hofer, brother of the groom, and Benjamin Otto Kraska, both of Zurich. Groomsmen were Judson Blount Williams, Jr. of Durham, brother of the bride; Thomas Blick Alexander of Raleigh; Oliver Tomas Gubler of Zurich; William Applegarth McGugin of Nashville; Montgomery Rush Morris of Charlotte; Benjamin Tom Niederhauser of Zurich; Oliver Gion Niederhauser of Zurich; Tim Christopher Oechsle of Zurich; Kalen Brian Stanton of Nashville; Lorin Emmanuel Stahel of Zurich; and David Beat Stehli of Zurich. Ushers were Robert Hassenbruch Havens of Philadelphia, PA; Steven Patrick Smith of Tallahassee; and William Oscar Wolff of Nashville.

Ring bearers were Thomas Blick Alexander, Jr. of Raleigh; Ambrose Hampton Alexander of Raleigh; and Judson Blount Williams, III of Durham, all nephews of the bride.

Readers were Alison West Pettus of Nashville and William McClanahan White of Raleigh. Greeters were Arden Alexandria Dixon of Raleigh; Kelly Elizabeth Ordemann of New Orleans; and Amanda Rachel Rales of Austin, TX.

The crucifer was Dimney Louise Rideout of Raleigh and acolytes were Christensen Steed Pilaro and Anthony Finnigan Pilaro, both of Southampton, NY. Music was provided by David Westbrook Jernigan, organist; John Jay Eagle, trumpeter; and Jennifer Elizabeth Myers, soloist.

After a honeymoon trip, the couple will live in Tallahassee.
