CenturyLink phone service restored in Kenly

— CenturyLink’s landline phone service in Kenly was restored early Thursday after going down about 6 p.m. Wednesday, the company said.

The outage affected 911 access and limited customers to calling only inside the town, officials said.

CenturyLink spokeswoman Jamie Mitchell said long-distance service came up at 1 a.m., and 911 connections were restored at 2 a.m.
