Academics: 4.7 GPA with extra credit for advanced courses.

Athletics: Puts the shot on the track team. Offensive tackle in football.

A book that affected me was: “Where Men Win Glory: The Odyssey of Pat Tillman” (by Jon Krakauer). The book … really got me interested in military service. The book really got me started thinking about a military career.”

College plans: Appointment to the U.S. Military Academy.

My life was affected by: “Jason McGeorge. He is the football coach at Heritage and he really pushed me. He made me believe in myself. I weighed 170 pounds when I was a freshman, but he kept working with me and encouraging me.”

Add to Mount Rushmore: “Franklin D. Roosevelt. He is a polarizing president, but he got us out of uncertain times.”

Last selfie was at: A bonfire.

My best moment in sports was: “Beating Leesville Road in football as a senior. That was the culmination of a lot of hard work by a lot of people. For us to beat a team that has been one of the best in the area was a big step.”

I was fascinated to learn about: “Civics and economics. I really enjoyed learning how our government works.”

Favorite course in school: “AP World History. I had Abby Soffe and she made learning history so much fun.”
