Marcus Paige, the North Carolina sophomore guard, has been named a second-team All-American by The Sporting News. Because of that, Paige’s jersey will hang among the honored jerseys in the Smith Center when he’s finished playing at UNC.

Paige is averaging 17.1 points, 4.5 assists and 1.6 steals per game this season. He scored a career-high 35 points in the Tar Heels’ overtime victory at N.C. State, and also scored 32 points to lead UNC to a victory against Louisville in late November.

Paige was also named first-team All-ACC, and media members covering the league and ACC coaches voted him the conference’s most improved player.
