A teenager shot a photo of this man accused of soliciting sex from a minor.

RALEIGH POLICE DEPARTMENT

— Police are looking for a man they suspect tried to solicit from a 13-year-old boy on a street last month.

Police say that an older man driving a tan- or silver-colored sedan approached the teenager on the 900 block of Wake Towne Drive, near an extended-stay hotel off Wake Forest Road. Police suspect the man solicited a sex act from the boy, was rejected and drove away, according to a written release.

Police describe the suspect as a white man, possibly in his 60s or 70s, the release says. Police don’t think the incident is connected to another suspected solicitation of sex near Broughton High School on March 5.

The Raleigh Police Department asks anyone with information about the case to call Raleigh CrimeStoppers at 919-834-4357 or visit www.raleighcrimestoppers.org for text and email reporting options. The program pays cash rewards for anonymous tips that help solves cases.
