From staff reportsMarch 13, 2014

— Raleigh police and Wake County sheriff's deputies have charged a 28-year-old man with taking indecent liberties with a child under 16 and violating his probation for a conviction on the same charge in Alamance County 17 months ago.

Devone Wilson Jones of 5327 Wayne St, was arrested Wednesday night.

Arrest warrants from deputies and Raleigh police each allege one instance on Dec. 29.

Warrants from police allege Jones took liberties in April and May last year.

Another warrant charges probation violation.

State prison records show Jones was convicted in October 2012 of an indecent liberties charge filed in June 2011 and placed on probation for three years.

The arrest warrants do not identify the victim’s gender.

Jones was held in lieu of $230,000 bail for his first court appearance Thursday.
