When I was a young boy, I treasured my collection of Big Little Books – a series of fat little cardboard-covered books based on comic strip characters like Dick Tracy, Popeye and Mickey Mouse, Western heroes and various crime fighters and fantasy characters – that are now sought after collectibles. Over the years, I had lost or given them away, and it wasn’t until my middle age that I began re-collecting these little treasures. I’ve now amassed several hundred of them and value them as a fond remembrance of my youth.
