March 16, 2014

Two local high schools announced that school band members were selected by audition for the Central District Bandmasters Association’s All-District Bands.

From Northwood High School in Pittsboro, Tommy Lorbacher was selected to play trumpet and Hudson Moore was chosen for flute. Both are sophomores. Hudson’s scores qualified her to try out for the All-State Band. Senior Kelsey O’Daniel was selected for clarinet.

From Franklin Academy in Wake Forest, senior Nick Mazzoleni and junior Ryan Bergfors were chosen for trombone, senior Matt LoCicero was chosen for tuba, sophomore Elijah Waldon was picked for alto saxophone and freshman Carley Graves was selected for bassoon. Carley’s score qualified her to try out for All-State.

The bands held clinics with rehearsals and a concert last month.
