Matchup to Watch
Kemba Walker versus Jeff Teague: Two of the better young point guards in the Eastern Conference. The Hawks paid up big to match Milwaukee’s offer sheet on Teague last summer.
• While the Bobcats lead the Hawks in the Eastern Conference standings, the head-to-head of late has been gruesome; Atlanta has won the past 10 meetings including the first two games this season.
• If the Hawks win either Monday or April 14 in Atlanta, they clinch a tiebreaker over the Bobcats.
• The Hawks signed power forward Paul Millsap off of Utah’s roster, same as the Bobcats signed center Al Jefferson. They’ve proven to be two of the more impactful free agents off last summer’s list.
• The Hawks are fifth in the NBA in 3-point percentage at .379. The Bobcats have struggled at times to guard the 3-point line effectively.
Did you know?
Kyle Korver’s streak of 127 consecutive games making a 3-pointer ended March 12. It’s the longest such streak in NBA history.
