Middle Creek softball catcher scholar-athlete of the week

March 18, 2014

Jenna Powell

Middle Creek, Senior

Academics: 4.5 overall grade point average with extra credit for advanced courses.

Athletics: Four-year varsity player as a catcher in softball.

A book that impacted me was: “The Bible. I try to live by its standards each day.”

A person that has impacted me is: “(Middle Creek softball coach) Robbie Wray. No matter how the game turns out, he is still there for me. He has been there in rough times and good times. He has the highest standards on and off the field.”

My last selfie was: “Sitting in the car singing ‘Timber’ by Pitbull.”

Add to Mount Rushmore: “Ronald Reagan. He was a great leader and worked with both sides of an issue.”

Ideal guest list: Harriet Tubman, Ronald Reagan, Anne Frank.

I was fascinated to learn that: “Somewhere in my time line I am related on my father’s side to William Clark of the Lewis and Clark Expedition.”

Favorite course in school: “History because there is so much of it to learn. I really enjoyed learning how people lived before technology.”

Last “B” grade: Last semester in anatomy.

Teacher that made a difference: “Ava Dwiggins in math. I was struggling in math and she helped me. She really helped me understand math and made a big difference in my life.”
