From staff reportsMarch 18, 2014

— Police are investigating a late Tuesday morning robbery at an unlikely location: a post office in Fuquay-Varina.

Police have released few details, but they say an undisclosed amount of cash was taken during the holdup, which took place just before 11 a.m. at the post office at 131 N. Judd Parkway NE, according to town spokeswoman Susan Weis.

Several agencies are involved in the investigation, including the U.S. Postal Inspectors Office, but no arrests had been made by early Tuesday afternoon. No one was injured.

Town officials have not said if one or more people was responsible for the robbery, nor have they released a physical description of any suspects.
