Tom Lamb: Greensboro just better than Raleigh

March 25, 2014

I was fortunate enough to attend the ACC Tournament for a day in Greensboro and one evening of the NCAA Regional event this past weekend in Raleigh. Parking was $15 at both facilities, but in Greensboro we could leave and return without having to pay the $15 a second time in the same day.

Greensboro also had sodas for a mere $4. They are now $4.50 in Raleigh. Greensboro also gave out a really nice brochure detailing lots of local attractions, restaurants, hotels and shops. There were lots of staff on hand in Greensboro who were very friendly.

Between the basketball sessions, the Greensboro Coliseum allowed all fans to remain in the building, whereas in Raleigh everyone was forced to leave the arena. I personally believe we were ushered out of the arena in hopes that we would leave the premises and have to pay another $15 to park for the evening.

If the ACC and the NCAA have a choice in venues, they should go to Greensboro for the sake of fans!
