One dead, three injured in Durham Freeway crash

— One person was killed and three others were hospitalized following a two-car crash on the Durham Freeway on Tuesday night, according to Durham police.

The crash happened about 9 p.m. in the northbound lanes, between the ramps of the freeway’s U.S. 15-501 interchange, according to Sgt. E. Peterson.

Police had confirmed one fatality, but didn’t know the condition of the three people who were hospitalized, Peterson said.

Northbound lanes of Durham Freeway, also known as N.C. 147, were blocked for an hour after the crash, according to police.
