RALEIGH — Police are looking still for one of the drivers who struck a 64-year-old woman on Capital Boulevard last Thursday.
Cornelia Olero Amissah was crossing the road in the path of traffic and away from a crosswalk just before 7 a.m. that day, north of Capital Boulevards intersection with Trawick Road, according to a crash report released Wednesday.
A Mercedes-Benz struck Amissah at 40 mph, sending her into the path of a second oncoming car. Amissah died at the site of the crash.
The driver of the Mercedes stayed on scene and faces no criminal charges.
The second car, described as a small, light-colored sedan, fled the scene and the driver has yet to be identified.
