Garner police seek pickup that fled from crash scene

From staff reportsMarch 27, 2014

— Police are looking for a white Toyota pickup with blue lettering on its side because they think it was the vehicle that collided with a moped and drove off.

They have asked the public’s help after being unable to track down the truck since the accident happened Tuesday evening. The moped rider was hospitalized with serious injuries.

The truck is a mid- to late-2000s model and is probably still missing its right-side rear-view mirror and its radio antenna.

It was last seen driving west on U.S. 70 from N.C. 50 after the crash, which took place at N.C. 50 and Umstead Lane, police said.

Garner police ask anyone with information on where the truck might be or who was driving it that evening to call them at 919-772-8810.
