    • Congratulations to Suzan R. Maddox of Holly Springs, winner of the first-quarter gift card! Your prize is on the way.

About 10 years ago, my sister Mary purchased a box of “junk” at a farm sale in Iowa for $15. When she got home and found this beater in the bottom of the box, she was excited and proud of her find. She showed it to everyone who visited her home.

When she passed six years ago, I asked if I could have it to remember her by. After I received it, I checked the Internet and to my surprise, found it valued at $1,300.

I love it, and think of Mary every time I see it.
