AT&T reboots retail concept with new Raleigh store

AT&T rolls out its latest innovation in Raleigh Friday. Rather than a new gadget or network this time, the wireless carrier has opened the doors to a new store with a fresh sales approach and design with greater emphasis on lifestyle in a mobile world.

The company’s new store design marks a retail focus on mobile lifestyle beyond just selling smartphones and tablets and will be implemented in future stores..

Shoppers will also find an array of accessories that range from a mobile projector to smart home accessories they can try out for themselves. “Customers visiting our Raleigh store will discover an interactive shopping experience built around their mobile lifestyle,” said Cristy Swink, AT&T’s Mid-Atlantic vice president and general manager.

While some may think that online shopping might encroach on retail brick and mortar locations, AT&T believes their future depends on personalized service, education and self discovery to see how connected products can fit in their daily lives.

The new Raleigh store located at 5100 Capital Blvd. will be open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
