No explosives in suspicious Durham package

— Police and sheriff’s deputies found no explosives following a report of a suspicious package near downtown Durham.

Police officers and the bomb unit of the Durham County Sheriff’s Office investigated the package found Monday afternoon in the 400 block of West Chapel Hill Street, close to police headquarters.

Police closed Duke Street between Jackson and Chapel Hill streets and Chapel Hill Street between Willard and Gregson streets. The streets have been reopened.
