Raleigh arrest is man’s fifth felony marijuana charge in two years

From staff reportsApril 1, 2014

— Faisal Tyler Moghadass, arrested four times in Wake County in 2012 and once in Pitt County that year on marijuana-related charges and currently on probation for two drug convictions, was arrested early Tuesday on charges of felony marijuana possession.

Raleigh officers arrested Moghadass, 21, at 2128 Ravenglass Pace, where they also charged the resident of the apartment, Lauren Elizabeth Hoffmann, 21.

Both were charged with felony possession of marijuana, and Hoffmann was charged with maintaining the apartment as a place to keep and sell drugs.

Moghadass was listed on an arrest report as living at 5040 Isabella Cannon Drive In Raleigh.

Moghadass was being held in lieu of $200,000 bail and was not due for a court appearance until Wednesday.

Huffmann was released on $10,000 bail.

A judge put Moghadass on 30 months’ probation in December 2012 for marijuana possession and sale convictions stemming from charges that Garner police filed twice in October of that year.

He had been given a suspended sentence in May 2012 on a misdemeanor conviction for having drug paraphernalia, a charge that grew out of an April arrest by Raleigh police on a felony marijuana possession charge.

There also had been an Oct. 27, 2012, charge by Alcohol Law Enforcement agents that Maghadass and another man each had about a half-pound of marijuana, but records show no conviction for Moghadass in that case.

Moghadass is due in court in Pitt County April 17 on marijuana charges from 2012, records show.
