Rockies put Chatwood on DL, call up Lyles for debut

The Sports NetworkApril 2, 2014

The Colorado Rockies placed pitcher Tyler Chatwood on the 15-day disabled list and recalled pitcher Jordan Lyles from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Chatwood was felled by a strained left hamstring. The move is retroactive to March 29. The 24-year-old was 8-5 with a 3.15 earned run average in 20 starts for Colorado last season, his third in the majors. His 2013 was interrupted early on by right elbow inflammation, which landed him on the DL to start the year.

Lyles, who was acquired by the Rox from Houston in a multi-player deal back in early December, went 7-9 with a 5.59 ERA in 27 games (25 starts) for the last- place Astros in 2013.
