Durham boy missing after parents’ arrest is found

— A 1-year-old who was missing for much of Friday has been found and is safe, police say.

An alert for the missing boy went out after his parents were arrested Friday morning in Winston-Salem, Durham police said.

Authorities arrested Andre Amon Thompson, 37, of Horton Road, and Dreama Alexandria Ferguson, 24, of Hudson Avenue, on charges of child neglect, police said. The boy, Andre Thompson Jr., was not found with his parents. Police issued a statement about 10:30 p.m. announcing that the boy had been found in Durham but did not release any details.
