Raleigh Charter High School seniors took top place in the Todd Fuller Contest, an annual math competition for Wake County-area schools held at N.C. State University.

Students Kevin Adington, Elish Mahajan, Sanjay Kannan, Gautam Nagaraj, Colleen Sharp, Hilary Sun and Andrew Zhou earned 261.5 points as a team.

Raleigh Charter High School math teacher Henry Rich noted that the win “took strong scores from every single player. A bad day from anyone would have lost it.” Students who placed in the top four spots for individual performance were each congratulated with cash prizes.

The competition is funded by N.C. State’s Department of Mathematics alumnus and former NBA player Todd Fuller.

Fuller teaches mathematics at Queens Grant Community School in Mint Hill.
