Cellist Jonah Krolik, an East Chapel High senior, won second place in the 2013 Hilton Head Symphony Youth Concerto Competition.
The competition was held in February at St. Lukes Church.
The annual competition is for gifted musicians in grades 12 and under.
This year 10 young musicians competed in the final round.

Jonah received a $500 honorarium and was granted a recital weekend on Hilton Head Island, S.C. Jonah started playing the cello at age 6, taking lessons from Leslie Alperin of Chapel Hill.
For the past 6 years, Jonah has studied with Bonnie Thron, principal cello of the N.C. Symphony Orchestra.
