With the Carolina RailHawks season opener this Saturday, its time to track where some of the former RailHawks players are right now. As of Tuesday afternoon, only six former players are scattered about the rest of the North American Soccer League.
Former player is a wide-ranging term in this case.
Some fan favorites stayed multiple seasons like Daniel Paladini and Matt Watson while another, Tom Heinemann, was only in Carolina for a month. The list also includes Sainey Touray, who was injured for his one season in Carolina and never appeared in a game. A few other names on the list were in Carolina for less than a full season on loan from another team like Kenney Walker, Matt Luzunaris and all three listed with the Richmond Kickers.
It should be noted that two previous RailHawks players Aaron King and Jun Marques Davidson returned to the club this offseason.
